Medical Services Projects Company (Kingdom Hospital and Consulting Clinics,
or KHCC)

Kingdom Hospital was established in Northern Riyadh in 2000 as a premium healthcare provider for the region. A Riyadh-based consulting clinic was acquired in 2002 to allow KHCC to provide end-to-end healthcare services. The consulting clinics are in the process of being merged with the hospital business.

Kingdom Hospital operates as a modern high quality hospital with 126 bed facility of which 72 beds are fully operational. The hospital features an inpatient surgical service with five operating theatres, a day surgery unit, delivery suites, 24-hour emergency services, critical care for adults (ICU) and neonates (NICU), outpatient clinical services, pharmacy outlet and various ancillary services. The Riyadh Consulting Clinic was established in 1986. Its services include a multi-speciality outpatient polyclinic, cardiac laboratory, gastrointestinal enoscopy service, physiotherapy and chiropractic services, a pharmacy outlet and various ancillary services.

KHCC is seeking to position itself as a high quality provider of comprehensive healthcare services utilising state-of-the-art technology and medicine. It is targeting the upper-middle to high-income segment of the population in Riyadh, as well as medium to large insurance companies and large corporations that provide health benefits to their employees.

The hospital is wholly owned by Medical Services Projects Company in which KHC holds a 69.0 percent interest. This represents an initial investment by the Company of SR206 million. In 2006, Medical Services Projects Company had EBITDA and net income of SR 5.7 million and SR (19.8) million, respectively. As at 31 December 2006, its total net assets were SR (18.7) million.

In the future, KHCC will seek to acquire additional hospitals and clinics with complementary business profiles to expand its model across the Middle East. It believes that this approach will create economies of scale, maximize revenues from in-patients while maintaining a stable cost structure, generate incremental revenues from out-patient clinics and strengthen connections with third party healthcare providers. In expanding its operations, KHCC will rely on its management expertise and the strength of Kingdom’s brand.
