Awards & Recognitions

KHC has faith in the global consumer. We believe demand for consumer goods will be robust in the decade to come – not only luxury amenities more immune to downturns, but more accessible products with broader market appeal. KHC invests in the best suppliers of both.

Another trend that gives us confidence in consumer goods is digital technology’s impact on global vertical supply chains. Competition is sharper, goods cheaper, and profits easier to attain. The consumer has access to unprecedented choice and ever-lower price points. KHC seeks out nimble consumer-facing companies with business models that take advantage of these technology-driven trends.

Company Profile

Saks Fifth Avenue is one of the world’s preeminent specialty retailers – a renowned brand known for unwavering dedication to providing customers with extraordinary product selection and exceptional service. Currently, Saks Incorporated operates Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks OFF 5TH and Saks Direct — each of which draws upon a rich heritage of innovation, quality, integrity and service.

Saks Fifth Avenue was the brainchild of Horace Saks and Bernard Gimbel, who operated independent retail stores on New York's 34th Street in the early 1900s. Their ambition was to construct a unique specialty store that would become synonymous with fashionable, gracious living. With the opening of its founders' "dream store" on September 15, 1924, Saks Fifth Avenue became the first large retail operation to locate in what was then primarily a residential district. By offering the finest quality men's and women's fashions, as well as the best possible customer service, Saks Fifth Avenue would become the byword for taste and elegance.

Saks is recognized for its superlative American and international designer collections, its expertly edited assortment of handbags, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics and gifts, and the first-rate fashion expertise and exemplary client service of its Associates. The company was named a J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Customer Service Champion, an honor accorded only 50 U.S. companies. Currently, Saks Fifth Avenue operates 45 Saks Fifth Avenue stores in 23 U.S. states in addition to four leased international stores, as well as 63 Saks OFF 5TH stores and Saks.com.
