Believing the property to be significantly undervalued, Kingdom Holding Company acquired and renovated the stately George V Hotel in 1996, which is wholly owned by KHC and managed by Four Seasons. Today this is a landmark property, steps from the Champs-Elysées and one of the world’s premier five-star hotels.
Built by Joel Hillman in 1928 at a cost of USD 31m, the Four Seasons George V Hotel features 245 luxury bedrooms and Le Cinq, the celebrated gourmet restaurant awarded two stars by Michelin.
Following the 1996 acquisition by KHC, the hotel was closed for more than three years to carry out substantial renovations and repairs and restore the iconic property to its former glory. The George V was reopened in 2000 to wide acclaim under Four Seasons management.
