HRH Prince Turki Bin Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Deputy Governor of Riyadh, honored Kingdom Schools 12th graduation ceremony and American diploma program 5th graduation which was held under “Watanuna Amanah”.
Dr. Nasser Almelhem, General Manager of Kingdom Schools, expressed his happiness as students started their future parting fond memories that will last for a life time and joining colleagues in prestigious universities after a long twelve years full of diligent, work and excellence.
In 2012, HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), was awarded the Leadership Award for Green Schools by the “Saudi Green Buildings Forum” (SGB). Prince Alwaleed received this award for his support to Kingdom Schools in creating a safe and healthy environment for children which is critical for their development. Eng. Faisal Alfadl, Secretary General of the Saudi Green Buildings Forum, presented the award to Prince Alwaleed, during the meeting that took place at HRH’s office in Riyadh. The SGB forum also aims to certify the first eco-friendly school under the LEED initiative to develop a platform for other schools globally.
The award was also presented to Eng. Talal Ibrahim Al Maiman, Chairman of Kingdom Schools and Executive Director for Development and Domestic Investments and KHC Board Member. Eng. Al Maiman commented: “Kingdom Schools is the first to adapt the concept of basic sustainability elements (People, Land & Economy).” He added: “This important achievement brings us closer to reality, and reflects Prince Alwaleed’s vision to provide only the best of what can be offered in the field of education for our future Saudi leaders.”
In addition, Kingdom Schools participated and hosted the global “Green apple day of service campaign”, held at Kingdom Schools September 2012.
In 2010, Kingdom School and GEMS Education, the largest K-12 Private School Provider in the world, has announced a partnership agreement where GEMS Education will manage the school, It will build the education capacity of the school because we can harness the resources from the GEMS Global Network in areas like professional development of teachers and quality assurance. Kingdom Schools opened for business in the year 2000, with the goal of providing an individualized educational experience targeted to upper to the middle class segments of Riyadh’s population. Kingdom Schools operates a private group of elementary, intermediate and high schools as well as a kindergarten for girls and boys in Riyadh.
