Prince Alwaleed Awarded Laos Highest Medal by President

HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) and HH Princess Ameerah Altaweel, Vice Chairwoman of Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation were on a visit to Laos. Prince Alwaleed was also accompanied by a delegation from Kingdom Holding and the Private Office. The Prince’s delegation included, Dr. Khaled Al Mansour, Advisor, Dr. Nahla Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman, Ms. Amani Algahtani, Assistant Executive Manager at HRH’s Private office, Ms. Manal Alshammari Manager, Protocol, Mr. Fahad Alofy Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman, Mr. Hani Agha Travel and External Affairs Manager, Mr. Hicham Fleihan, Travel and External Affairs Assistant Manager.

The Prince was received by HE Mr. Phonsgsavath Boupha, Minister of the Presidential Office and his spouse, Mr. Khamphan Anlavanth, Deputy Director General of Asia-Pacific and Africa Department, ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Viengluang Boupha, Deputy Director General of Protocol, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Prince was warmly welcomed by HE President Choummaly Sayasone of Lao Pdr and his spouse at the presidential palace. During the visit, the President awarded Prince Alwaleed a medal of honor by the President during a ceremony of decoration. The medal was in recognition of HRH’s efforts on many fronts including his investments through Kingdom Holding locally, regionally and internationally as a respected, distinguished international investor and entrepreneur, and the Prince’s educational, and philanthropic contributions on a global scale.

Furthermore, the Prince met with various officials during his stay in Laos, these include, HE Mr. Hiem Phommachan, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Thongmy Phommisay, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Planning and Investment, H.E. Mrs. Vienthong Siphandon, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Finance, H.E. Mr. Somphao Phaysith,Vice Governor of the Bank of Lao Pdr, Dr. Sanan Choulamany, President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and other officials. In addition, a dinner was hosted in honor of Prince Alwaleed by HE Vice President Bounnhang Vorachith of the Lao Pdr. and HRH’s visit concluded with ta tour of the city of Vietiane.

1. 1997: The Medal of the Presidency of the Italian Republic; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by The Scientific Committee of the Italian Pio Manzù International Research Centre, as a token of recognition of the Prince’s highly successful and thriving career and outstanding business flair and acumen.
2. 1997: The Star Decoration of the First Order; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by the late, King Hussein Bin Talal of Jordan, in recognition of the Prince’s regional and international investments and philanthropy.
3. 1998: The National Cedar Decoration of the Commander Order; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by Former Lebanese President Elias Harawi in recognition of the Prince’s economic and social contributions to Lebanon.
4. 1999: The Diplomatic Merit of the Heung Korean; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by President Kim Dae-Jung in recognition of the Prince’s investments in Korea.
5. 2000: The Bethlehem 2000 Medal; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat for his continuous support to the Palestinian cause.
6. 2001: Laila Utama Darja Kerabat Seri Utama Yang Amat Dihormati; the most esteemed royal family order, presented by Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah to Prince Alwaleed for promoting bilateral relations between Brunei and Saudi Arabia.
7. 2002: King AbdulAziz Medal of the First Order for Distinguished Businessmen; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by Crown Prince Abdullah Bin AbdulAziz on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd.
8. 2002: The National Cedar Medal, Order of the Grand Officer; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by Lebanese President Emile Lahoud for the Prince’s contributions and support to Lebanon and the Lebanese economy.
9. 2002: The Medal of the Republic of Tunisia of the Great Order; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by Tunisian President Zein Al Abidine Bin Ali in recognition of the Prince’s efforts in promoting bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
10. 2003: The Presidential Medal of Bosnia and Herzegovina; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sulejman Tihic in recognition of the Prince’s support of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people.
11. 2003: The Medal with the rank of “Grand Officer of the National Order of the Lion”; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by the President of Senegal Mr. Abdoulaye Wade in recognition of the Prince’s efforts in promoting bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Senegal.
12. 2003: The Medal with the rank of “Commander of the National Order of Merit of the Republic of Guinea”; awarded to Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal by the President of Guinea Mr. Lansana Conte in recognition of the Prince’s efforts in promoting bilateral relations.
13. 2003: The Medal with the rank of “Grand Officer of the Order of Mono”; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by the President of Togo Mr. Gnassingbe Eyadema in recognition of the Prince’s efforts in promoting bilateral relations.
14. 2003: The Medal with the rank of “Commander of the National Order”; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by the President of Burkina Faso Mr. Blaise Compaore in recognition of the Prince’s efforts in promoting bilateral relations.

16. 2003: The Medal with the rank of “The Officer in The Order of Oranje-Nassau”; bestowed upon Prince Alwaleed by H. M. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands for the Prince’s distinguished role in promoting Dutch-Saudi economic relations.
17. 2003: The November 7th Medal; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by Tunisian President Zein Al Abidine Bin Ali in recognition of the Prince’s humanitarian efforts in Tunisia and around the world.

40. 2008: “The Pontifical Meda”l; bestowed by Pope Benedict XVI during a ceremony held at the Vatican to H.E. Ms. Leila El Solh, Vice Chairman of Alwaleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation in Beirut.
41. 2008: “The Genghis Khan Medal”; bestowed upon Prince Alwaleed by President of Mongolia Nambaryn Enkhbayar.
42. 2008: The Maronite General Council has granted HRH Prince Alwaleed the “Golden Order of the Maronite General Council” for his distinctive contributions to the Council and to Lebanon.
43. 2008: The “Residential Coat of Arms”, the Highest Honor granted by the State of Eritrea, was bestowed by the Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki upon HRH Prince Alwaleed.
44. 2009: “The unification medal”; awarded to Prince Alwaleed by Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh in recognition of the Prince’s efforts in investment and philanthropy .
45. 2009: “The MADARA Horseman” Medal; the Highest Honor granted by the State of Bulgaria, was bestowed by the Bulgarian President GEPRGI PARVANOV upon HRH Prince Alwaleed.
46. 2009:”The Grand-Croix National Malgache Medal” which is the ordre National in Madagascar bestowed upon Prince Alwaleed by the President of the Republic of Madagascar Andry Rajoelina.
47. 2009:”The Grand-Croix National Medal” bestowed upon Prince Alwaleed by the President of the Republic of Central Africa François boziz .
48. 2009:The “Presidential Plaque “ the highest honor granted by the Republic of the Seychelles, was bestowed by the President of the Seychelles Mr. James Alix Michel to HRH in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the socio-economic development of the Seychellois people.
49. 2009:”The President of France Medal” bestowed upon Prince Alwaleed by the President of the Republic of France NICOLAS SARKOZY .
50. 2010: The “Presidential Plaque “awarded to HRH by Lebanese president Michel Suleiman.
51. 2010: “The COLINAS DE BOE Medal” the Highest Honor granted by the Republic of Guinea Bissau, was bestowed by the President upon HRH Prince Alwaleed.
52. 2010:”The AMILCAR CABRAL Medal” bestowed upon Prince Alwaleed by the President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau.
53. 2010: “The FRIENDSHIP Medal” the Highest Honor granted by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, was bestowed by the President upon HRH Prince Alwaleed.
