His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company, visited the Republic of Cyprus where he met the President of the Republic of Cyprus His Excellency Mr. Demetris Christofias, the First Lady and a number of business men. Prince Alwaleed was accompanied by his spouse Her Highness Princess Ameerah Altaweel Vice-President of the Board of Trustees of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation. His Highness was also accompanied by a delegation of Kingdom Holding Company and Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation.
Upon the arrival of Prince Alwaleed to the Republic of Cyprus he was welcomed at President`s private holiday home where His Excellency Mr. Demetris Christofias hosted a private luncheon for HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, and his spouse HH Princess Ameerah Altaweel in Limassol. During the private luncheon, Prince Alwaleed thanked the President for his invitation and the discussions touched upon the strong friendship between Saudi Arabia and Cyprus, and on mutual economic and investment opportunities between the two countries and means of cooperation. They also discussed investment opportunities in the hotel sector available in Cyprus. The president took the opportunity to present Prince Alwaleed with hotel investment ideas and commended the Prince on his substantial international investments in this sector locally and internationally.
In 2006, Prince Alwaleed also met with Former Cypriot President Mr. Tassos Papadopoulos at the Four Seasons George V Hotel in Paris. Mr. Papadopoulos and Prince Alwaleed discussed the efforts being made in Cyprus to develop the economy and how to strengthen Saudi-Cypriot ties.
Prince Alwaleed has direct ownership interests and significant hotel-related investments in leading international hotel management companies, namely Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Raffles Hotels and Resorts, Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts ,Swissotel Hotels and Resorts, managing more than 239 hotels and resorts throughout the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
