HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), met with HE Dr. Ikililou Dhoinine, President of the Union of Comoros, during His Excellency’s official visit to Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attend the 4th Arab-South American States Summit.
During the meeting, the two discussed economic and humanitarian issues and the bi-lateral economic relations between their countries. In 2014, HRH received HE Mr. Mohammed Ali Saleh Vice President in Charge of the Ministry of Finance and Budget, Foreign Trade, Privatization and Economy of Union of the Comoros. In 2009, the Prince received at his office, HE Mr. Mohamed Bacar Dossar, Union of Comoros Minister of Defense at the time.
In 2004, Prince Alwaleed made humanitarian contributions to the Union of the Comoros through Alwaleed Philanthropies chaired by His Highness, that include a donation to finance power generators that reached 100,000 beneficiaries in more than 30,000 homes. In the same year, the Medal with the rank of “Commander of the Order of the Star of Anjouan” was bestowed upon HRH by the President at the time.
In addition, Prince Alwaleed met with HE Rafael Correa Delgado President of Ecuador, HE Amado Boudou, Vice President of the Republic of Argentina, HE Vice-President of Republic of Oriental Uruguay, Raul Sendic and HE Peruvian PM Pedro Cateriano.
The summit aims to coordinate between the Arab countries and South American countries on political, economic, cultural and social fronts, which in turn will be a way to achieve lasting development in those countries and contribute to world peace. The first summit was held in Brasilia, Brazil in May 2005 and the second summit was held in Doha, Qatar in March 2009, the third summit was held in Lima, Peru, in October 2012. The 4th Arab-South American States Summit was held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 10-11 November 2015 in Riyadh.
