Prince Alwaleed Receives Hungarian Prime Minister KHC’s Investments in Hungary Through the Banking, Hospitality & Real-estate Sector

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received at his office in Riyadh on Monday 24th March 2014, HE. Dr. Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary and an accompanying delegation. The delegation included HE Mr. Mihály Varga, Minister of National Economy, HE Mr. Zoltan Balog, Minister of National Human Resources, HE Mr. Péter Szijjártó, State secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, HE Mr. Miklos Kallay, Ambassador of Hungary to Saudi Arabia, HE Mr. Hatem Alghamdi, Saudi Ambassador to Hungary, Mr. István Nagy, Advisor, Mr. Gyula Teller, Advisor, Mr. Imre Kerenyi, Advisor, HE. Dr. Laszlo Parragh, President of Hungarian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (HCCI), Mr. Endre Spaller, President of the National Innovation Office and Mr. Istvan Grof, Head of Foreign Department.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Mohammed Almujadidi, Senior Executive Manager, Office of HRH the chairman, Dr. Nahla Nasser Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the chairman Ms. Intisar Alyamani, Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department, Dr. Samir Anabtawi, Academic Advisor to HRH the Chairman, Ms. Hassna Alturki, Department Head Travel & External Affairs and Mr. Hani Agha, Senior Manager Travel & External Affairs.

The meeting began with Dr. Orbán thanking Prince Alwaleed for giving him and the delegation the opportunity to meet with him. During the meeting, HRH and Dr. Orbán discussed a number of investment issues and the economic bi-lateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Hungary. Dr. Orbán commended Prince Alwaleed on his efforts in playing a vital role in economic and social development, referring to HRH’s local, regional and international investments. The two also discussed Prince Alwaleed’s investments in Hungary through Citigroup in the banking sector and via Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in the hotel sector, Four Seasons hotel via the management of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in which KHC hold a 47.5% interest.

In 2012, Prince Alwaleed received at his office in Riyadh HE. Dr. Laszlo Parragh, President of Hungarian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) and an accompanying delegation.

In 2011, Prince Alwaleed received HE. Dr. Zsolt Becsey, Minister of State, Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Hungary and an accompanying business delegation.

In 2003, Prince Alwaleed had visited Budapest the capital of Hungary in response to an official invitation from the late President H.E. Ferenc Mádl. During the trip, the Prince and an accompanying delegation from KHC toured the locations of some of KHC’s investments that included the Four Seasons Hotel and Citigroup for a briefing.
