Prince Alwaleed Receives Letters From Greek PM & Minister of Defense

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) received at his office, HE Mr. Joannis Christofilis, Greek Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The meeting was attended by Dr. Nahla Nasser Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman, and Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel, Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.

The meeting began as the Ambassador thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet him. The two also discussed a number of general local, regional issues and the global economic climate. During the meeting, the Ambassador handed Prince Alwaleed two letters; one from HE Mr. Antonis C. Samaras, Greek Prime Minister and the other letter from HE Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos, Greek Minister of National Defense.

Moreover, Mr. Christofilis commended the Prince on his efforts on the business front, describing His Highness as one of the largest and most influential global investors, and commended him on his global philanthropic support.

In August 2013, Prince Alwaleed visited Athens, Greece and met the Greek Minister of National Defense at the Ministry of National Defense. During the meeting Prince Alwaleed and Mr. Avramopoulos discussed various general issues.

Prince Alwaleed’s indirect investments in Greece through KHC include Citigroup in the financial sector and Movenpick in the hotels sector.
