HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received HE Mr. Boris Ruge, outgoing German Ambassador to Saudi Arabia who was accompanied by his spouse. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Heba Fatani, Senior Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department, Ms. Hassna Alturki, Executive Manager for International Relations to HRH the Chairman and Mr. Ahmed Altobaishi, Executive Assistant to HRH.
The meeting began as the Ambassador thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet him. During the meeting, the two discussed a number of social and economic issues. Furthermore, Mr. Ruge bid farewell to HRH as he had come to the end of his post as German Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Also on the agenda of discussions was an invitation to Prince Alwaleed to visit Germany. In response, Prince Alwaleed promised to visit in the near future.
In 2015, Prince Alwaleed received HE Dr. Markus Ederer, German State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office who was keen on listening to the Prince’s views and pointed out that the Prince is well known for his significant and successful projects as he has a special vision for future potential investments.
In 2014, Prince Alwaleed hosted a dinner in honor of HE Mr. Gerhard Schröder, Former German Federal Chancellor and Honorary Chairman of the Near and Middle East Association at Kingdom resort. In addition, Prince Alwaleed had received in his office in Riyadh HE Mr. Schröder in 2013.
The Prince’s investments through KHC in Germany include investments in the hospitality sector through Fairmont Hotel in Hamburg, 14 Movenpick and 3 Swissotel Hotels, and in the banking sector through Citigroup.
