Prince Alwaleed Receives Tanzanian Ambassador to Discuss Economic Issues

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received at his office the HE Prof Abdullah H. Omari Tanzanian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia who was accompanied by HE Mr. Aziz Sheween, Tanzanian Minister Plenipotentiary from Tanzanian Embassay to Saudi Arabia. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Nahla Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman. The meeting began as the Ambassador thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet with him and relayed cordial regards from the Tanzanian President, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. The Ambassador also thanked the Prince for his support to the Dar Es Salaam University. Furthermore, during the meeting the Prince and Prof. Omari discussed social and economic issues related to their respective countries. Also on the agenda of discussions were further investment opportunities in Tanzania. In response HRH expressed his readiness to explore further investment opportunities in Tanzania, referring to his existing investments there especially in the hotel sector that includes Movenpick Royal Palm Hotel in Dar Es Salaam. Prince Alwaleed had also made a contribution towards the construction of a university building in Dar Es Salaam at the request of President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. In conclusion to the meeting, the Ambassador thanked the Prince for the donation and thanked him again for the meeting. HRH visited Tanzania in 2006 and met with President Kikwete at the State House. During the visit, Prince Alwaleed was presented with an honorary citizenship and a golden “Key to the City of Dar Es Salaam” by Mayor of Dar Es Salaam city, Mr. Adam Kimbisa in an official ceremony of investiture.
