Prince Alwaleed & South African Minister of Tourism Discuss Investment Issues

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) received at his office in Riyadh H. E. Mr. Marthinus Van Schalkwyk, South African Minister of Tourism and an accompanying delegation.

 

The delegation included Mr. Lucas Makhubela, Director General, Ministry of Tourism, H. E. Mogamat Sadick Jaffer, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Tebogo Palai, Official, Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Michael Sarjoo, Counsellor- South African Embassy, Mr. Phoka Motsilili, Counsellor- South African Embassy, Mr. R. Mahlale, Commercial Counsellor- S A Embassy, Mr. Erick Makhubela, First Secretary- S A Embassy, Mr. Riaan Aucamp, Personal Assistant to the Minister. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel, Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.

 

The meeting began as the Minister thanked Prince Alwaleed for the meeting. The two discussed economic and investment issues, Mr. Schalkwyk referred to investment opportunities in South Africa in the hotel sector, and presented Prince Alwaleed with the proposals.

 

In response, the Prince promised to study the investment opportunities in South Africa and said that such investments would strengthen economic relations between Saudi Arabia and South Africa.

 

In 2008, Prince Alwaleed received at his office, Mr. Ebrahim Rasool, Premier of the Western Cape. Mr. Rasool’s visit was part of an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

In March 2007, HRH Prince Alwaleed received President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa at Kingdom resort in Riyadh and hosted a luncheon in honor of his guest.
