Sudanese President Invites Prince Alwaleed to Visit Sudan

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received at his office in Riyadh on Saturday October 8th 2011 HE Mr. Ali Ahmed Kurti, Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, who was accompanied by H.E. Mr. Abdulhafid Ibrahim Al Razik Sudanese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Mr. Ahmed Yousef Mohammed, Ministers Office Manager. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Nahla Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman, Ms. Hassna Alturki, Assistant Executive Manager – Travel and External Affairs Department.

The meeting began as the Minister thanked Prince Alwaleed for giving him the opportunity to meet with him and relayed cordial regards from the H.E Sudanese President Omar Albashir and handed the Prince a letter from him. During the meeting, HRH and the Minister discussed a number of social and economic issues in addition to the economic relations between the two countries.

Moreover, the Minister commended Prince Alwaleed on his local, regional and international investments and his humanitarian initiatives. In return, Prince Alwaleed thanked the Foreign Minister and asked him to relay his cordial regards to the president.

In 2003, HRH donated 80 tons of supplies for Sudanese flood victims to help the government deal with the massive destruction that happened in some provinces east of the country. The donation consisted of tents, blankets, medical supplies, hygiene service requirements, water pumps and first aids for disasters were shipped from Riyadh to Agiler via a private cargo jet. Earlier that year also, Prince Alwaleed pledged a $10,000 donation to each family of the 115 victims who lost their lives in the crash of Sudanese Airliner.
